Where I am Financially and How I Keep Up

My Bank Account Total
As of today, I have $4.35 in the business account.  I have about $70 in the personal account, and I don’t get paid for another 10 days.  Thankfully, I have a refrigerator full of food, so I know I can make it through if I’m careful.  Although it seems things are dire I feel a sense of calm that things are on an upward trajectory.

Learning About Money
Seeing my bank account with such meager totals is motivating in a strange way.  I know that as I start to make money, I am going to save more than I ever have before.  I am 13 months away from being 50.  I know that my retirement hangs in the balance.  I want to live a comfortable life in my 60s and beyond.  I feel strong now to accomplish what I need to live a good life in my old age.  I want to pull out a Suze Orman book so that I can start learning how to manage the money that I will start to see as an entrepreneur.  I feel it’s better to know what to do than to be scrambling about what is the best course of action.  I am sure there is an app for money management, please recommended on in the comments if something has worked for you.

Financial Goals
My goal financially is to buy a house or condo within two years.  I want to travel the world as well once I get my online businesses set-up.  I know if others have achieved this freedom so can I.  It’s just a question of following a step-by-step process of a business model that has worked for other people.

Working
am working through the steps I have chosen to start an affiliate marketing business.  I know that that is an investment in time so I am putting in the work every day.  I have signed up with 8 temp agencies so that I can earn the money to buy the drop shipping course.  I have a few irons in the fire so I am optimistic.  I try to call once a week just to make sure I am a squeaky wheel.  I am truly excited to earn my goal of making $5000 to invest in my businesses.

Food Blog
I have written two recipes for my food blog burningagua.com.  The pictures were the most difficult part of the process.  I want to buy some tablecloths and clear my kitchen table so that it is a nice staging area.  I thought the writing would be challenging but it was a step-by-step instructional essay that I found fun to do.  It is great sharing what I have learned to cook in the few short months I have been practicing.  I am a novice at cooking but the blog is about the journey to becoming a great cook, so any mistakes or flaws in the cooking are real life experiences I can share with my readers.  I think the cooking blog was a good place to start.  I have to cook every day so the growth will come with practice and my readers will benefit from my journey.  It’s really exciting that I can offer my experiences to help other people.

Productivity
I have written 8 blogs in 5 days so my goal of writing 700 words a day is going strong with no stopping me.  My personal blog is much easier to write as it is more of a stream of consciousness.   However, in each blog article, I write I want to offer advice or a resource that I use so the readers come away with value.

Project Management Blog Article
I have a lot on my plate.  I am sure you are wondering how I keep it straight.  I use a project management app called Trello.  The app is free to use for basic projects, however, if you run a team the paid version may be more useful for you.  The link to the blog article I wrote on the subject is here Easy Project Management with Trello.

Trello
It is a great tool to juggle multiple projects in your life.  It is one place that I can download all my lists, links, pictures, information and track the progress of each goal in my life without a hassle.  I am a visual thinker and the layout of the app allows me to take a quick snapshot of where each project is at any given time.  It basically mimics notes on a bulletin board that moves across a page as each task progresses.  It is free to join and use the basic functions.  I have never had a need to pay for the premium service yet, so it is the great resource for anybody with limited resources like mine.  Sign up for Free

Summary
I would love it if you provided me with information about free tools to use as a writer, entrepreneur or cook.  I use a handful of services for writing and organizing information, but I’m always on the lookout for more.  It is crazy how many tools are out there it can be overwhelming to keep up with everything.  My blog Amusing Violet tries to sort through some programs, but there are so many.  Please respond with your recommendations in the comments below!  I read everything!
